About how to connect your application to a larger network
Social media operating system
Maitri is an operating system for social media.
It augments social graphs with community graphs, and also provides an interoperability layer for applications to share network effects while competing on other dimensions.
Community Graphs map people's memberships in groups and the extent of their involvement. This unlocks many new social coordination tools, including higher quality interactions, improved community governance, and robust and scalable reputation systems.
Maitri enables and incentivizes social applications to interoperate, making it complementary to web3 solutions such as Lens and Farcaster, as well as web2 apps with centralized social graphs.
The key to interoperability is that it happens indirectly via the Maitri Portal layer. This breaks the winner-take-all dynamic, allowing for many social graphs to be combined into a greater network.
Maitri Portals also serve a critical role in scaling the ecosystem to many applications. They allow users to access all their apps from one place, and easily discover and add new apps with a single click.
